Hey there flisters! How are things? I am finding myself in yet another pattern of sleeping about every other day or so, which sucks health wise but is doing wonders for my fandom productivity. I am also ~trying to be a bit more social as of late. :P So in that light, COMMENCE BABBLING!


Truth be told, I was not certain I would be participating in this year's spn_j2_bigbang. Last year I epically failed at doing art for lizzywinks's wonderful dragon fic and had to request a pinch hitter. And I had fully intended on doing a crap load of art worthy of akintay's spn_reversebang fic; both of which I failed because of personal stuff going on which lead to a severe art block that only recently really let up.

So I signed up under the idea that I wouldn't claim unless I really felt strongly about a summary. OMG J2 side of fandom did not let down! My short list was right around 11 fics, everything from superheroes to dystopian apocalypse fics! My interest was piqued in so many different directions. But after a BRUTAL decision making process, one spoke to me more than the others and I was lucky enough to snag this gem by the lovely and talented xdarkdesires.

A story filled with crack and cuteness. Jared gets killed by his dog, Harley. Jensen is his guardian angel and is not happy that Jared got himself killed within 2 minutes without supervision so he makes Jared come back to life and decides to make himself human so that he can keep watch over him constantly. They end up introducing themselves as boyfriends to Jared's family so that suspicion wasn't raised and a game of gay chicken ensues. Jensen learns that there is a way to fall from grace and become human but he has to decide if potential unrequited love is worth the fall.

I already had the pleasure of reading the fic in its entirety and let me tell you, you are all in for a treat! It is a wonderful balance of schmoop, banter, world building with a small sprinkle of crack! It is wonderful and I am so honored to get the chance to work on it. ♥

In other Supernatural news, I am still working on my Sam/Dean charity piece, but am finding Sam's shoulder and season 8 hair extremely problematic, so I have put it off for a few days. BAH! I do feel really bad about how long this one is taking me, and I really need to stop taking charity commissions if I drag them out forever. :(


I did however finish a banner for a challenge that I have been working for the better part of a year. Thanks to the wonderful mods at j2_everafter, I have been working on bringing that same challenge over the Teen Wolf fandom.

If you don't know what it is, it is a fic/art fusion challenge based entirely of Disney (and Disney owned) movies! The J2 version was a resounding success that just finished it's final round just a few months back. And it holds a particularly precious piece (holy alliteration, Batman) in my heart as the first art challenge I took place in. Man have I changed since drawing chibi!Jensen in Bambi pajamas. HAHA!

Anyway, the challenge is pretty much ready to go at anytime, but I have been taking my sweet time (and using whatever patience I possess) to make the banners for it. The one I have finished I am particularly proud of and took me forever to do and thanks to much ranting to fiercelynormal, transfixeddream, and shinyslasher I survived it! And then insomnia hit and I decided to do one for like every single Teen Wolf character there is. :| I have a feeling that idea will burn me out quickly, so I might just try to keep it to two or three. BUT SO MANY IDEAS!

But anyway, when do y'all think would be a good time to have such a challenge? I know show is gearing up for season three next month and j2 usually held theirs during hiatus, but that seems way far off? Also, I want to get it in before the Teen Wolf Big Bangs start up. I'm thinking maybe July or August? What do you think?

Also on the Teen Wolf front, I started a new art comm with ldyghst and drew a few pieces both teen Wolf and not just cuz, which felt really good for a change.

I also quickly drew this for tebtosca.

So what about you guys. Are you participating in Big Bang this round? If so, what did you write/claim? Are you excited for Season Three of Teen Wolf or the Season Eight Finale of Supernatural (even if it is to just get this season behind us)? How about the train wreck that has been Smash this season? *holds a lighter up for Kyle* Seen Iron Man 3 yet? TELL ME!

I want to sleep, Kat, but it is just that I find other REALLY important things to do! Like making toenail sculptures and making traditional Shoshone-Bannock rug tapestries entirely out of cat hair! Also, I just made fresh coffee and it would be a shame to share this pot with other people, best drink it all!

About the challenge, I agree that July or August sounds good. It's not right at the start of the new season so fandom's got time to cool their jets a bit XD but it's not too far off either. /nods

I'm doing bigbang, have written a long-ass (for my standards, lol) S/D fic. Already sort of anxious about it, but... yeah. Bad decisions R US. /headdesk
