*For all of these pieces I choose to do them solely in Photoshop from beginning to end rather than using Sai or Corel, which is fairly new to me. Yay for finding pencil brush settings I like!

Every human is born with a guardian angel and Jensen is Jared’s. It takes a grand total of two minutes without Jensen’s constant attention for Jared to get himself killed in the most pathetic of ways and so Jensen decides to take on a human persona and make sure Jared lives until his actual expiration date. It turns out that gay chicken between a human and an angel can actually be pretty risky when feelings are involved. Sometimes you have to figure out if it’s worth the fall.

The End is the Beginning

For my Jared piece, I decided to do the very first scene in the fic, namely his death-- what a way to start out. HE GETS BETTER THOUGH! Originally I had a crew of paramedics, but I wanted to avoid too much gore and trauma, so I decided to do it from this angle and leave that to the imagination. which kind of works, since it brings more of a focus to Jared and Harley. For the ghost effect, I took my cues from the Jedi school of special effects, blue transparent hues with a white glow effect. If it ain't broke...


The Real Me

The graveside scene was the first piece that came vividly to my mind, and was my initial draft submission. I was so excited about the fic, that I started doing this one the morning after I finished reading. I'm not really sure how long it took me, but I know it was over a few days-- mostly because (as transfixeddream can attest to) I couldn't decide on a tee shirt design. I had everything from Hawkman to Superman and from Domo to Yoshi before finally settling on Cap's S.H.I.E.L.D. design. /o\ SOMEDAY I will use them! My personal head canon is that when Jared very first meets Jensen, Jensen is always dressed in slacks, a dress shirt, and a tailored pin striped vest but as he starts remembering how it is to be human, he starts to loosen up-- namely stealing Jared's clothes. :P

My favorite part was doing the reflection in the pond and the detailing the feathers (angel wings referenced from a brush, as well as how I detailed them are in the comments.) Anyway, I also made the textures for the clothing, leaves, and grass-- and purely by accident, I accidentally made a demon face in them. WHOOPS! D:




I Choose You

For my banner I chose to use an idea transfixeddream had given me for my very first BB art two years ago which I just never got around to doing, namely the guys holding hands (one frozen and one on fire in that case) but I found that it would also work perfectly for this fic but with the contrast of human and angel, so there ya go!

Not much to say here, I have a new fondness for drawing feathers and for Jared I threw in an Xbox controller since he is a bit of a gamer.

Photoshop is definitely not easy to learn, heck, I've had it for three years and am just NOW getting comfortable using it! What I realized was that it really helps to have a tablet with decent sensitivity (and make sure it's turned on /o\) and to play with your brush setting. All it took for me, was to slightly tweak a default brush and I get pretty damn close to lead pencil like lines. So don't give up and keep on practicing!

I'm no pro by any means, but if you have any questions, feel free to ask. And thank you for the lovely comment, it made my night!
