Revelations

Wetness grew in Jensen's wrinkle covered eyes as a fond smile overtook his face.

“Thomas....” Jensen sighed, sadness mixed with joy came out in the near whisper. “I didn't mean to mislead you if that's what you felt I have done. The truth is that Jared was my one and only love, my soul mate. I was in love with my best friend and was lucky enough that he in turn returned those feelings.” He placed the photo in his lap and looked up at the young man, waiting for his response.

Tom stared at the elderly friend, processing the confession, he finally stood and crossed the short distance to the wheel chair. He bent down and put a tender hand upon Jensen's. “I am not mad at you Jensen, you are an amazing man. I just want you to know that you can tell me anything. I am totally okay with the gay thing, it just kinda caught me off guard is all.”

“Thank you son. I never really considered myself gay. I have never been with any other man but Jared, never even looked at anyone else. To me I fell in love with him, his gender was just another aspect of him.”

Tom took a seat at the closer end of the sofa.”But you were attracted to him, physically I mean?”

“Yes, but, this is hard to explain... I fell in love with him as a whole, not his looks. He was a beautiful human being, though I won't say that he wasn't physically blessed as well because he certainly was.”

Tom folded his arms around his knees as he brought his long legs up on the furniture. “Tell me... how you realized it... was it the night he showed up at your door?”

“No, much later than that.”

When Jensen awoke he was alone in bed. Sun streaked through the blinds to his left. His arms stretched over his head as he yawned loudly. He looked around the room. Jared's boots still lay discarded in the corner but no other signs of him were to be found.

“Jared?” he called through his parents' house.

He had been house sitting for just about a month while his parents were on holiday. He was all to happy to volunteer, anytime away from his cramped apartment across town was welcome. Shuffling once again through the hallway he still found no trace of his best friend. The living room remained untouched, as was the kitchen and main floor restroom.

Jensen suddenly noticed that their dog was missing as well.

“Belle? Here girl..” he whistled loudly. Nothing.

He decided to check out the backyard. He slid aside the kitchen window's curtain and saw the large Golden Retriever bounce happily through the dew tipped grass. Jared sat in the middle of the well manicured lawn, unknowingly ripping up strands of grass and tossing them away. Jensen watched for a few minutes before deciding to comfort his friend. He slid the large glass door and crossed across the patio. He whimpered at the cold wetness dampening his pajama bottoms and bare feet.

Jared hadn't noticed the door opening, nor the approaching young man from behind. A warm hand found its way over his bare shoulder, without thinking he reached up to squeeze it. Jensen grunted slightly as he bent down to sit behind the massive man. He brought both arms around him and Jared squeezed the embrace.

“How you holding up Jay?”

“I'm fine I guess...”

“You sure?”

“No. Where do I go from here? I don't know what to do Jen.”

“Do you want to try to work things out?”

“I don't think I can, knowing that betrayal. Those are just feelings I can't sweep aside and pretend to forget about. I think...” his voice gave out as his throat clenched.

“You want a divorce?” Jensen said more as a statement than a question.

Jared nodded silently.

“Okay. I'm sure we can find someone to help with that. Josh has a lawyer friend, pretty sure he's criminal defense but he can probably point us in the right direction.”

“What am I going to do. Everything I have is in Vancouver with Gen. Where am I gonna live?”

“You can stay with me! It's a bit cramped but it should suffice till we get you back on your feet. I am up for vacation soon at work so I can come up and help you pack if you'd like.” Jensen softly declared.

“Thank You Jen, I don't know where I'd be without you. You are the best friend anyone could ask for.” The grasp got even tighter as he squeezed the shorter man's forearms.

“I try.” Jensen smiled.

“Okay so you guys moved in to your apartment together...Is that where it happened?”

“You are very impatient tonight Tommy.”

“Sorry...” Tom laughed as he blushed, his eyes falling on his shoes.

“We didn't last too long in my apartment. As I said it was very small even for just me... so imagine how it was when you added a 6'4 Sasquatch into it as well. Jared got a job offer in L.A. and convinced me to move with him. We ended up buying that house you helped pack up. I've lived there ever since, well until I went to that hell hole anyway.”

Jared and Jensen walked through the neighborhood park, each being drug behind massive dogs. The second the men got home both cuddly beasts demanded their daily routine, not particularly caring on the details such as the weather. Normally sunny Los Angeles had been uncharacteristically overcast for the better part of two days. Massive dark gray thunderheads hung sinisterly overhead and the rumblings started echoing.

“We'd better haul some serious ass, looks like rain!” Jared huffed behind the St. Bernard.

Jensen struggled against the leash of the Retriever, a pup his mother had given to him a few birthdays ago. “You tell Bas that!” he tugged uselessly as the dog strained on forward.

The first drops fell peacefully against Jared's cheek. He wiped it away and then another, and another. The pace picked up to a steady pitter patter against the walkway. “Come one you two, we're gonna get drenched.” No sooner than the word was out that the heavens burst into a full out down pour.

“Great!” Jensen shouted as he tried to feebly shield his head with his one available arm. Jared chuckled as the four started to charge in the direction of home.

By the time they arrived at their door the dogs were panting happily as the rain fell ever harder. Lightning streaked across the sky. Jared's hair streaked down his neck and face, plastered to the skin. Jensen desperately unlocked the door to allow them reprieve from the elements. The dogs instantly shook water everywhere as both men tossed off soaked shoes and socks and ran for the closest towels they could find.

Jensen ripped off his tank and threw it in the bathroom hamper and began towel drying off his chiseled chest. Jared rushed in afterwards and grabbed a towel from behind Jensen. He fluffed the water out of his head before throwing the towel over his shoulders. Jensen turned to face him. Goose bumps formed all over his bare torso. Jared grabbed the towel from him and wrapped it around his chest and rubbed, trying to warm his friend.

Jared tried not to laugh as Jensen's lips quivered... “Ssssooo.... cccolldd...!” his friend chattered.

A large thumb brushed a stray droplet away from a freckled nose. The hand found its way to the back of Jensen's neck, the thumb stroked slightly over his cheek. Jared smiled downwards and for some reason bent forward and touched his lips to the puckered quivering lips. It was short and unexpected, when Jared's mind caught up to his actions he pulled back suddenly.

“I...” he stuttered.

Jensen's wide green eyes stared back in confusion.

“I don't know what came over me Jen... I...” his words were cut off by the return of the pouty set of lips. The kiss was electric. Something neither had experienced before. There was no movement between them just lips pushed tightly together.

“Jen?” Jared brought his hands up to softly push back the shorter man.

Jensen's eyes were filled with unrealized wonder. Jared searched deeply into the pools of green to find something, anything. Jared wanted desperately to know his friend's thoughts, what was happening here, he wasn't into guys, not that he was aware of. He was fairly certain Jensen wasn't either. Yet here they were standing in a bathroom together, separated from the most amazing feeling kiss, a simple press of lips. Jared didn't understand. Jensen was clueless.

The only thing the both of them knew in that minute was that they wanted this amazing sensation to continue, to be forever lost in this moment, together. Both men suddenly crashed into one another. Lips worked together in a mindless unison as their hands arched over the other's body. Jared brushed his hands over Jensen's exposed nipples, sending more bumps over the bare flesh. Jensen grabbed achingly towards the long strands of chocolate hair hanging over Jared's neck, fingering the damp locks. Jared pushed Jensen in to the door as the two stumbled backwards, lips and tongues intertwining.

They made it down the hall and to the living room. Jensen shoved now, pushing the large man with ever growing need. Jared tumbled over the arm of the couch. Jensen collapsed on top of him. The two unconsciously adjusted on the much too small piece of furniture. Jensen brought his fingers down to tug at the ends of Jared's shirt. The first break of the kiss happened, only to allow the removal of the cotton garment that was quickly thrown carelessly onto one of the watching dogs.

Jensen quickly returned to the lip lock, both sets of eyes clenched as moans escaped into the other man's mouth.

Sebastian shook off the shirt and then tilted his yellow head, his tongue falling out the side of his mouth. Theo woofed deeply before following his companion's head tilt, trying to understand their masters' odd behavior.

“Wow!” was the only word that Tom could get out.
